Not veterinary advice
Pet Price Index is written by an editor, not a veterinarian, and nothing on it is advice about the diagnosis, treatment, medication or care of any animal.
Whether a procedure is needed, when it should happen and how it should be done are questions for a licensed veterinarian who has examined your animal. If your animal is unwell, contact a vet. If it is an emergency, contact an emergency clinic now rather than reading price pages.
What the figures are
Every price on this site was published by a provider on its own website and read by us on the date shown beside it.
The medians and ranges summarise those published prices. They are not quotes, not estimates for your animal, and not a promise that any provider will charge that amount. Providers change prices without notice, add fees at the visit, and price by weight, age, health and location. The methodology explains how we collect and summarise them.
Get a written estimate
Before you book, ask the clinic you intend to use for a written estimate that lists what is included.
Our surveys record what each published price includes and what costs extra, so you can compare an estimate line by line. The estimate you are given is the only figure that applies to your animal.
Errors
We check figures before publication and correct them publicly, but errors are possible. If you find one, write to corrections@petpriceindex.com. The corrections log records every change.
Advertising and affiliate links
The site earns from display advertising and from some affiliate links, as set out in the affiliate disclosure. No advertiser or partner influences a figure, and the pages we consider sensitive carry no commercial links at all.
Liability
Use of the site is at your own risk and subject to the terms of use, which limit our liability to the extent the law allows.
