We have not finished collecting prices for preventive care costs. When we do, this page will carry a table of every figure beneath it, with the sample size and the month it was collected, and each row will link to the full survey and its source list.
We publish medians from prices providers have published themselves. We do not estimate, and we do not publish a number before we have collected it. You can read how the surveys are run in the meantime.

Every figure on this site comes from a price the provider published themselves, recorded with the provider name, city, state and the date it was read. We report medians rather than averages, because a handful of specialist clinics would otherwise drag the number away from what most owners pay. The full method, including how many providers we check to find each price, is on the methodology page.
Prices vary widely by region, by clinic and by your animal’s individual needs. Use these figures to know what is normal, then ask your own vet for a written estimate before agreeing to treatment. Nothing on this site is medical advice.
