What the site is
Pet Price Index publishes surveys of pet care prices that providers in the United States have published on their own websites, together with articles that explain those figures.
Every figure is a median or range of published prices, recorded with the provider, location and the date the price was read. The methodology explains how the surveys are built. The figures describe what was published on a given date; they are not quotes, offers or guarantees of any price.
Not veterinary, financial or legal advice
Nothing on this site is veterinary advice, and nothing on it should be used to decide whether, when or how an animal is treated.
We are not veterinarians. Questions about diagnosis, treatment, medication or timing belong with your own vet. Prices vary by clinic, by animal and by day, and a published price is not an estimate for your animal. Get a written estimate from the clinic you intend to use before booking. Our disclaimer says this in full.
Accuracy and corrections
We check every figure against its source before publication and we log every correction publicly, but we cannot promise the site is free of error.
Providers change prices without notice, and a figure that was correct on the date it was read may not be correct today. The date on each page and each source tells you when we looked. If you find an error, write to corrections@petpriceindex.com and we will check it and record the outcome on the corrections log.
Using the data
The survey spreadsheets offered for download are licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 (CC BY 4.0). You may copy, share and adapt them, including commercially, provided you credit Pet Price Index and link to the survey page.
The articles, page text, charts and images are copyright Pet Price Index and may not be republished in full without permission. Short quotations with a link to the page are welcome. Automated bulk copying of the site is not permitted. Requests for other uses go to editor@petpriceindex.com.
Third-party providers and links
The providers named in a survey have no connection with this site and have not endorsed it. A link to a provider is a citation of where a price was read, not a recommendation. Links to other websites are provided for reference; we are not responsible for their content, accuracy or privacy practices.
Advertising and affiliate links
The site carries display advertising and some links that earn a commission, as described in the affiliate disclosure. Advertisers and partners have no influence over any published figure. Our editorial policy sets out the rules we hold ourselves to.
Limitation of liability
The site is provided as it is, without warranty of any kind, and to the fullest extent permitted by law we accept no liability for loss arising from reliance on it.
That includes any decision about paying for, delaying or declining care for an animal, and any difference between a figure on this site and a price you are quoted. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Changes to the site and these terms
We may change or remove any part of the site at any time. When these terms change, the date at the top changes with them. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the new terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of the country in which the publisher is established, and any dispute is subject to the courts of that country, without affecting any consumer rights you have under the law of the country where you live.
